Poland to offer Iranian short ‘Funfair’

The Krakow Film Festival market in Poland is to offer Iranian short ‘Funfair’.

The KFF MARKET - Krakow Film Festival in Poland has set to offer Iranian short title ‘Funfair’.

Directed by Kaveh Mazaheri, the 15-minute flick narrates the story of a young married couple and their 5-year-old kid.

The three of them are grabbling with financial issues that the father of the family has brought upon them.

“Majid, a financially struggling man, comes up with a ploy in order to better the life of his wife, Sara”, Reads a brief synopsis for the flick.

The Iran/Canada co-production has also been accepted into the competition programs of the 4th Akbank Short Film Festival in Turkey, 18th Geneva Int’l Film Festival and Forum on Human Rights in Switzerland as well as the 15th Dieciminuti Film Festival in Italy.

‘Funfair’ has been qualified for Oscar 2021 after winning the best short film award at the 32nd Foyle Film Festival in the UK.

The Krakow Film Festival is one of the oldest events in the world that focuses on documentary, feature film and short film.

The eight-day festival is a chance for viewers to watch some 250 international films.

The 60th edition of the event will be held online from May 31 to June 5.
